Position Description – Winemaking specialist
We are currently seeking a passionate Winemaking specialist based in South Australia with winemaking experience and strong knowledge of the market to increase brand awareness and grow our business. Reporting to the Managing Director , This sales-focused role that will be responsible for managing allocated territories, through regular site visits to existing and prospective customers to deliver expert technical support and advice, using samples, analysis, equipment and evidence-based research, to recommend products best suited to the customers needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain existing customer base and key accounts, including regular visits to ensure sales objectives and customer needs are satisfied
- Establish new business relationships and sales opportunities with prospective customers
- Introduce new and specialty products to customers
- Achieve agreed revenue metrics and sales targets, including the management of business expenses
- Provide monthly reports on all allocated territories and projects
- Assist with stock management, QA documentation needs, samples and trials
- Build brand awareness and represent the business at wine association led events, workshops and presentations, liaising with key influencers and decision-makers
- Contribute expert content for trade and media, communicating brand message and relevant evidence-based results
- Maintain current knowledge of latest research and technology, attending available training and learning opportunities
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Tertiary qualification in Oenology or related discipline
- Experience in similar sales roles with established networks
- Strong practical winemaking / cellar experience
- Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa
- Valid driver’s licence
- Current passport

- Self-motivated and able to work well autonomously as well as in a small team environment
- Project management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate to a broad audience
- Knowledge or experience of European culture & Multilingual skills will be highly regarded
