With announcement 2023 No. 1, issued on March 2nd, the Chinese Food Safety Standards and Monitoring & Evaluation Department added E456 Potassium Polyaspartate (KPA), permitting its use for wine stabilization in China.
Since carboxymethyl cellulose and metatartaric acid are not approved by Chinese Law, KPA is the only stabilizing agent that can be used for wine in China and wine to be exported to China. Please note that it is required to indicate KPA in the list of ingredients.
